Minor Accounts (0–18)

Perks that encourage saving and smart money habits.

  • Report Card Rewards: earn $1 for every “A” (up to $5 per period). *Must present report card
  • Birthday Gift Card: special gift card each year. *Child must be present and on birthday to receive.
  • Financial Education: resources to learn real-world money skills.

Youth CDs (Minor CD)

A longer-term option designed for consistent saving.

  • 60 Month Minor CD available for under 18.
  • Minimum balance:$25.00
  • Add deposits: in increments of $100+.

*Minor CDs will be converted to normal CDs at time of renewal. At that time, adding to CDs will no longer be allowed without closing the current CD and opening a new.

Scholarship

Support for students taking the next step after high school.

  • Superior Credit Union's Pete Updegraff $1,000 Scholarship.
  • Applications open March 1 and end April 30 each year.

Eligibility

  • You (or an immediate family member) must be a member of Superior Credit Union.
  • Employees/Directors and their affiliates/immediate families are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Completed application
  • Copy of high school transcript
  • Resume (school/community activities, work, etc.)
  • Essay (can be one already written for a college application)

Essay instructions

  • Include: who influenced you most, participation in school/community, and how you would use the scholarship money.
  • Do not include your name, school, or school district anywhere in the essay.

Process

  • Applications are separated from essays for anonymous judging.
  • Essays are scored on: content, mechanics, style, and originality.
